PM’S Scholarship Scheme for wards of Ex-servicemen/widows

Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme was introduced from the Academic year 2006-07 to encourage higher technical and professional education for the dependent wards of Ex-Servicemen / Ex-Coast Guard and their widows (below officer rank only) and dependent wards / widows of Ex-Servicemen / Ex-Coast Guard who died in harness due to causes attributable to military service / Coast Guard Service, irrespective of the rank.From this year Coast Guard personnel’s ward will also enjoy PMSS. Details and application form can be downloaded from http://www.mod.nic.in/welfareschemes/welcome.html.

Last date for the application to reach respective RSB is 28 Feb 2011

Eligible Courses

First year professional degree programme in BE, B Tech, BDS, MBBS, B Ed, BBA, BCA, B Pharma, etc. duly recognized by the respective government regulatory bodies, such as All India Council for Technical Education, Medical Council of India, UGC etc (master degree course are not eligible to apply for Prime Minister’s Scholarship except MBA, MCA). The scheme is open for courses mentioned above in recognized institutions (in India only). Students studying abroad are not eligible for this scheme. Students getting stipend for the professional degree course are also not entitled. The candidates may avail only scholarship for first degree course (Professional) i.e. graduate level only under PMSS.

Scholarship for Integrated Courses.

The facility under PMSS is restricted for professional courses only, such as B Ed but not for BA+B Ed, also for LLB not for BA+LLB duly recognized by the respective Government regulatory bodies such as All India Council for Technical Education, Medical Council of India etc.

Last year I was emailed the pm scholarship 2011 form but i didn’t know that the same thing could be used again for renewing this year.I was given a form by my friend which i had filled n sent with the required documents.Now this form has a slightly different format than the one i was emailed last year but essentially contains the same information,my friend got information from some where that it might not be the right one and has sent the application form again(the one we were mailed). Am yamini, pursuing my 4th year B.tech. My father is a Ex-Servicemam (Name: T.C.Suresh Kumar, Service Number: 652327 L). I applied for pm scholarship in the academic year 2009-10 and i was selected, My Selection Serial Number is 13780. But i was not informed about my selection through post. I personally approached my RSB many times and later only i was informed about my selection and my selection serial number in my 3rd year (i.e.During December 2011). Then within some days i submitted Two renewal forms through my RSB, attaching a copy of my 1st and & 2nd semester marksheet with one renewal form and 3rd & 4th semester marksheet attached with another renewal form (along with other necessary photocopies with two renewal forms individually). But i have received Rs18000 only twice in my account (A/C No: 6182000100000846 of PNB). Its being since one year i have sent the renewal form but i have not received my 3rd year scholarship (i.e. Did not receive Rs 18000 3rd time)… please help me in ways of getting it. Also mail the renewal for for the academic year 2012-13 to the mail id yamini.ts@gmail.com.
